Licence and attribution

The nu:legal legal database makes available its own curation of the law: the structure and selection of the database, the cross-references between norms and decisions, the Land statutes reconstructed from the official promulgation gazettes, and the documented change history.

This curation is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). Anyone who reuses or passes it on — to people or to machines — names nu:legal as the source and includes the following notice: “Source: nu:legal — recht.nulegal.eu”.

Crawling and citing our content is expressly permitted (with attribution under CC BY 4.0). The only use reserved is bulk use for training AI systems (Section 44b(3) of the German Copyright Act, UrhG); it requires our consent.

The database as a whole is protected by the database maker's right (Sections 87a et seq. UrhG). Systematic reproduction or reuse of substantial parts — including by the repeated and systematic extraction of insubstantial parts — outside the terms of CC BY 4.0 requires our consent.

The published source code is licensed under the Apache License 2.0.
